Dr. Dan Plews
Dr. Dan Plews has an impressive background as a coach, sports scientist, and athlete. He has worked extensively with elite athletes who have achieved over 25 world and Olympic titles in rowing, kayak, and triathlon. Additionally, Dan served as the Head of Physical Performance for Emirates Team New Zealand, contributing to their victory in the Americas Cup. With a PhD in Exercise Physiology and over 60 peer-reviewed publications, Dan's expertise is well-recognized in the field. As an Ironman athlete himself, he holds the amateur course record at the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii, Kona, and boasts a personal best time of 7 hours and 56 minutes over the Ironman Triathlon distance.
 Dr. Ed Maunder
Dr. Ed Maunder is a Senior Lecturer and Head of of Postgraduate programmes in Sport, Exercise, and Health at AUT. Ed has a background in Performance Physiology and his research focuses on mitochondrial adaptations to endurance training and the physiological profiling of endurance athletes. A particular current focus of Ed’s research is durability in endurance exercise. Ed has been working with Endure IQ since 2019.
