The Science and Application of Strength and Power Training for Triathletes
ENROLL HEREAccording to a 2021 paper published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, a “lack of knowledge regarding exercise progressions and correct form” were key perceived barriers to strength training in long distance triathletes.
In Endure IQ LDT301 you will learn the physiological basis for various strength and power training methods. In addition, you will gain an understanding of the fundamental resistance exercise prescription components which will enable you to effectively integrate strength, power and plyometric based exercises into a long-distance triathlon training program.
In Endure IQ LDT301, you will learn the theoretical and practical components of strength and power training. Through a series of easy to following coaching videos, you will gain insight in the key coaching cues to use when prescribing and implementing the various exercises.

DR. ADAM STOREY
From 2008 - 2016, Adam coached and managed various New Zealand weightlifting teams at key pinnacle events including the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games and the 2010 and 2014 Commonwealth Games. During this time, Adam coached weightlifters to Commonwealth Games medals and his athletes broke over 250 official New Zealand records in competition.
Adam’s specialist background in the areas of strength and power development has enabled him to work with multiple World and Olympic champions across several sports including track and field, sprint kayak and sailing. In addition, he has a breadth of experience working in the high-pressure and complex environment of professional (Super Rugby) and international level rugby union.
In his role as a Senior Research Fellow within AUT University's Sports Performance Research Institute, Adam supervises postgraduate research projects in the areas of strength and conditioning and exercise physiology. With over 40 peer-reviewed publications and contributions to academic textbooks, Adam has an in-depth understanding of how to strategical periodise resistance training to elicit optimal performance outcomes for athletes.
Adam is an avid runner over half-marathon to ultra-marathon distances and he is working towards completing his first 100km ultra event.
